Open City by Teju Cole.. It is not smoke and mirrors but layers of meaning and cultural dissonance that make this book such a powerful yet enjoyable read. Serious stuff, but you will swoon at the dreamlike richness of the storytelling.

Joel Gardner, LitSnap Editor

"… beautiful, subtle, and, finally, original novel.."

New Yorker
