Secretariat by William Nack.. One of the best of many great horse books I’ve come across, this reissue of the 1975 turf-pounder might inspire you to do something foolish like get a horse. Think twice, but the bluegrass stains will be hard to get out.

Joel Gardner, LitSnap Editor

"I thought it was curious that Nack, who could recite long passages from Fitzgerald and Eliot by heart, had been lured away from literature by a racehorse. Now I understand. He found literature in a racehorse. ."

Roger Ebert

"An excellent biography.."
